Sustainability
gstc
We are certified under the criteria of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council — the international standard that measures, in a concrete and verifiable way, a property's genuine commitment to responsible tourism.
GSTC certification is not a label.
It is a structured process built on four pillars: sustainable business management, benefits for the local community, protection of cultural heritage, and reduction of environmental impact.
For us, it means that every choice — from the energy we use to the suppliers we choose, from the people we work with to the water we conserve — is measured, documented and open to improvement.
Doing well is not enough. We want to be able to show it.
OUR
We live in a corner of Sicily that deserves to stay as it is. That is why every decision we make about our hotel — from the energy we consume to the water we use, from the materials we choose to the people we work with — starts with one question: are we leaving this place better than we found it?
This is not rhetoric. It is simply how we run every season.
Sustainability is not only environmental. It means working with local producers, honouring the culture of this place, and creating work that stays here.
Marina di Petrolo is part of Castellammare del Golfo — and we want that to show.
SUSTAINABLE
Our photovoltaic system generates main of the electricity we use.
All lighting is LED. Every technical choice comes from the same intention: to reduce our footprint without reducing the quality of your stay.
PLASTIC?
Water is a precious resource. We treat it as one.
Our system delivers 100% pure drinking water throughout the hotel, while our water management approach works to eliminate waste at every point — from irrigation to the rooms, with constant attention to consumption.
The hotel is plastic-free.
We have eliminated single-use plastics and replaced them with reusable and recyclable materials — because respect for the sea begins at home.
For guests travelling by electric vehicle, we offer a complimentary charging station on site.
Since 2018, we have been a partner of the Tesla and Porsche Destination Charging programme.
